How to Promote Clickfunnels (Fastest Way to Super Affiliate)

The best way to promote Clickfunnels is not to promote Clickfunnels at all!

You need to provide enough value to a specific audience in order for them to understand that they need the product in the first place.

But what do I mean with “provide enough value”?

Let me explain…

Being a complex tool – even though it’s the easiest within its space – most people you’d recommend a product like Clickfunnels are unaware of the following:

• What a funnel is…
• What Clickfunnels is…
• How to apply Clickfunnels to their businesses…
• How Clickfunnels can solve their problem…
• How to use Clickfunnels…
• That anybody without technical skills can build a funnel with Clickfunnels…

Your job as an affiliate is to answer those questions.

But one of the best things about this affiliate program is that Russell Brunson and his team have created a series of complementary products to help serve both their users and affiliates.

I will talk a bit about those products and how you can leverage them to promote Clickfunnels later in this post.

If it’s now, think about which questions are crossing your mind – write them down, they’ll be useful later.

I can tell you that in my case I read both of Russell’s books (Dotcom Secrets and Expert Secrets) before I entered the funnel world.

How to Promote Clickfunnels WITHOUT Promoting Clickfunnels

According to Julie Stoian – VP of Marketing at Clickfunnels, there are 3 Roles you can assume in order to promote Clickfunnels:

• The Service Provider
• The Advertiser
• The Thought Leader

The Service Provider

As the Service Provider, you’ll be acting as an Agency. You’ll build funnels for your clients to help them achieve a specific purpose.

The best clients to focus on when starting out on this role are local businesses in your area.

Of course, you’ll have to become proficient in the use of the software and especially in funnel building – you need to learn exactly what a funnel is and how every business can benefit from one.

The best way to learn all of these things is through the One Funnel Away Challenge.

This is a training program led by Russell Brunson, where 2 of his top experts: Julie Stoian and Steve Larson will teach you everything you need to know to build and launch your first funnel in 30 days.

I’ll explain more about the challenge later in this post.

The best friend of the Service Provider is the Share-a-Funnel utility within Clickfunnels.

You can build a funnel in your Clickfunnels account and share it with your client. In order to use your funnel, they’ll need to have an account.

If the person doesn’t currently have a Clickfunnels account, they’ll become your referral when prompted to create an account to download the funnel you built for them.

The Service Provider is the one that has the most legwork out of the 3 roles but also the easiest to get started with.

I advise you to get started offering your services for free as this will build up your experience and portfolio, which you can later leverage as proof when you start charging handsomely for building funnels.

You’ll still be building up Clickfunnels’ referrals which will pay you monthly commissions for as long as they use the software.

The Advertiser

The advertiser, as you might imagine, leverages Ads to bring the product to their audience.

As I explained before, you can’t just advertise Clickfunnels. To do that would cost you $1.000s just to acquire a customer if you could do it at all. Clickfunnels themselves don’t advertise this way.

As the advertiser, you need to leverage what Russell calls the Value Ladder (he teaches this concept in his book Dotcom Secrets).

Then, all you have to do is ensure that your Ads are profitable by matching the right audience with the right product and measure your results.

The Value Ladder

This is a concept created by Russell Brunson which is the foundation of any profitable funnel.

1 – You acquire a prospect’s email through a free (or very cheap) offer, where you’re essentially losing money from your Ads.

2 – You then move the customer up the ladder by offering complementary products through Upsells, Downsells, and One Time Offers.

3 – This process continues through email.

At Clickfunnels, they’re masters of the Value Ladder and they’ve built these for you already:

As you can see from the picture above, once you get someone to buy a book through your Ad, that person will be led through this entire funnel automatically. 

Any other product they choose to buy will pay YOU a commission too.

Your job as the affiliate is to lead them through a similar funnel through email.

Just remember, when you email someone, you should always lead with value. Don’t be “salesy”!

Educate and inform your subscriber as to how the next product can help them achieve their goals better or faster.

The Thought Leader

As the Thought Leader, you’ll leverage a platform of yours where you create content in order to inform and educate your audience.

This can be done in any format (video, audio, text) and through any platform (youtube, iTunes, website, or even by leveraging a social platform like Instagram)

A great example of this in action is this exact blog post.

I wrote this entire article on how to promote Clickfunnels. When you type that query into Google, you might find my post in the search results, which, if I did my job properly, will answer your question and lead you closer to the product.

The purpose of a piece of content like this is not to get you to buy the product but to bring you one step closer to it by providing information.

Throughout your content, you’ll offer something of value (and relevant to the query) to that person in exchange for their email contact and you’ll then continue providing value through email.

Using a process similar to the value ladder, as I mentioned earlier.

The Thought Leader focuses on 2 things: 

1. Create incredible pieces of content that answer existing questions.
2. Follow-up through email and continue to provide value while moving the prospect through all the products that can help them achieve a specific goal.

How to Promote Clickfunnels through Other Products

As you can see, Clickfunnels is better promoted by first creating awareness of how it can help someone.

This is done by leveraging other services or products that lead to Clickfunnels. 

So which other products can you leverage?

Two of the best products to start people on the journey towards being a Clickfunnels user are Russell’s books, which teach everything you need to know to thrive as a funnel builder.

Dotcom Secrets Book

This was Russell’s first book and it’s a must-read for EVERYONE who wants to succeed with an online business.

In it, Russell teaches his concepts of Ladders and Funnels, how to find your dream customers, how to follow-up through email, and his scripts for high converting funnels.

In essence, if you pick up the book with no knowledge of what a funnel is, you’ll finish it knowing everything about it and how to build one.
